Eileen Fraser has a prescribed daily fluid limit and a partially completed intake/output record. She says her shoes feel tighter. Reconcile the recorded totals, assess the resident and document a clinically useful review plan. Do not change the fluid limit. The patient answers personal questions; the examiner supplies requested examination findings. Dr Taylor Singh is reachable by phone.
What this station tests
- Always state the period covered by a fluid balance total.
- An unmeasured drink is a limitation, not a number to guess.
- Interpret the record with weight, oedema and breathing, and seek review before changing treatment.
