The task
Tom Fisher collapses on a dry poolside walkway after leaving the water. He has been moved clear of the pool by staff and is lying on his back. RN Alex Morgan is with you. Demonstrate basic life support and AED use, coordinate help and complete a brief event record after resuscitation responsibility is transferred. The patient is a manikin; address the patient and the examiner voices their answers and supplies findings. RN Alex Morgan is available.
What this station tests
- Clear the patient from water and dry bare pad sites before AED attachment.
- Gasping is not normal breathing; do not delay CPR for routine observations.
- Resume CPR immediately after shock delivery and keep pauses short.
