PLAB 2 preparation: time and courses online
The GMC does not publish a recommended PLAB 2 preparation time, so plan around your own gaps and the two-year limit after PLAB 1. Prices below were seen on 6 November 2026 and can change. Back to the PLAB 2 exam guide.
How long to prepare
You must pass PLAB 2 within two years of passing PLAB 1, counted from the date you sat PLAB 1. Booking dates can be hard to get, so check the booking page early. A clear plan is to practise each theme, review the three domains, then do timed mocks. See PLAB 2 mock test.

Choosing what you need
No online tool replaces observed teaching for physical examination and procedures, so consider a face-to-face session for those. For talking stations, an AI patient lets you practise often. We offer one station free with no sign-up, and plans are on pricing. Read PLAB 2 AI practice and PLAB 2 fees to plan the total cost.
