PLAB 2 mock test: practise a station free

What a good PLAB 2 mock includes

The GMC format is 16 scenarios of 8 minutes plus at least 2 rest stations, over about 3 hours. A useful mock copies three things.

• Timing: 8 minutes on the clock and 1 minute 30 seconds to read.
• Start routine: say your name and GMC number, then introduce yourself to the patient.
• Feedback in the three marked domains: data gathering, clinical management and interpersonal skills.

Read how those are marked on PLAB 2 mark scheme.

PLAB 2 mocks online or in person

Face-to-face mocks and courses are sold in cities such as Manchester, and they suit physical examination and procedures. Online mocks let you practise any evening. For a list of paid options with prices seen, see PLAB 2 preparation.

Be careful with free mock papers of unknown origin. Some may be recalled from real exams. We do not publish or collect real exam stations. Our mocks are original.

How to run your own mock

1. Pick 4 stations from different themes.
2. Set an 8 minute timer and a 90 second reading gap.
3. Speak aloud as you would in the room.
4. Check yourself against the three domains, then repeat the weakest.

The PLAB 2 AI practice page covers practising with an AI patient. Our feedback is an estimate, not a GMC result.
