NMC OSCE results time and resit rules

NMC OSCE results time is usually within 5 working days, sent by email from the centre. If you fail, you can resit only the stations you failed. Back to the NMC OSCE guide.

When you get your NMC OSCE results

The centre emails your result, usually within 5 working days. The NMC booklet says it can take up to 10 working days when new station content has been introduced (NMC booklet). Results are per station: pass or fail. You do not get a numeric score. A fail email lists the stations and elements you failed.

NMC OSCE resit rules

These rules are on the NMC OSCE page. The fee for each resit depends on how many stations you retake: see the NMC OSCE resit cost.

If your centre closes

Two former centres have closed: Northumbria on 19 February 2026 and Oxford Brookes on 31 July 2026. The NMC says affected candidates may transfer a resit by emailing another centre. Dates and the current list are on the NMC OSCE centres page.

Using the gap before a resit

Use the failed element names to decide what to practise. If an essential criterion or a red flag cost you a station, drill it first. The marking criteria guide explains both. Then run only the failed station types as timed attempts in the NMC OSCE practice test.

Second-attempt pass rates were 76% to 84% at the three open centres in January to March 2026 (see pass rates). Reasonable adjustments, such as extra time, are arranged with the centre after you book.

Common questions

How long do NMC OSCE results take?

Usually within 5 working days by email, and up to 10 working days when new content has been introduced.

Do I resit the whole NMC OSCE if I fail?

No. You retake only the stations you failed, unless your third attempt fails, in which case you wait six months and retake all 10.

Practise every day until it feels routine.

One pass opens every exam on the site, including the NMC OSCE. From US$25 for 7 days, with no automatic renewal.
