RN OSCE practice station
Vital signs · 2 min to read · 8 min to perform
A written station. Free to try, no sign-up.
The task
You are the RN in an aged care facility. Gordon McLeod, aged 86, has been unusually sleepy since breakfast. His usual cognition is clear, according to the care record. Assess observations and acute change, then explain and arrange the next care step. Complete the supplied practice record. Speak to the patient and describe each assessment as you perform it. A second RN is available. You have eight minutes; describe and select physical actions in this online exercise.
What this station tests
- Gordon’s new confusion, fever and breathing change are acute deterioration.
- His care plan permits active treatment and transfer while excluding CPR.
- Weak cough and drowsiness mean protect the airway and avoid oral drinks.
- Use hearing aids and include medicines, BGL and goals in the GP handover.
