A written station. Free to try, no sign-up.
The task
Oliver Price is waiting in ED after a forearm injury. His father is upset about the wait and worries that the arm will be damaged. Assess immediate concerns, respond to the father without making promises and agree a review and communication plan. The patient is a manikin; address the patient and the examiner voices their answers and supplies findings. RN Alex Morgan is available. Mark Price is present.
What this station tests
- Acknowledge a parent’s concern and assess the child before explaining delays.
- Use current neurovascular and pain findings rather than offering guarantees.
- An update promise should name a responsible person and be followed through.
