Pippa James has a prescribed IV fluid infusion due. Review the order and bedside equipment, explain and describe the nursing care, and complete the fluid record. Casey is available for checking and Dr Lee can be contacted.
What this station tests
- Pump rate and volume-to-be-infused are separate settings.
- An available bag volume does not replace the prescribed volume.
- Reassess the person and cannula after starting an infusion.
