Sunita Desai has noticed a blister on her right foot during a community diabetes nursing visit. Assess the foot, identify risks requiring review and document a care plan. Do not debride the blister. The patient answers personal questions; the examiner supplies requested examination findings. Dr Taylor Singh is reachable by phone.
What this station tests
- Reduced protective sensation can make a significant foot injury painless.
- Inspect shoes as well as skin when identifying the source of pressure.
- Do not open an intact blister or add debridement without an appropriate treatment plan.
