Celia Martin, 40, has a signed order for 0.9% sodium chloride at 80 mL/hour through a left forearm cannula. Her giving set is due for change. A replacement set and supplies are on the trolley. Explain and carry out the giving-set change using ANTT, check the site and rate, and complete the progress note. Say aloud what you do at each step.
What this station tests
- A key part that touches linen must be replaced before connection.
- Use the approved antiseptic instructions and let the access port dry completely.
- After a set change, retrace the line and verify the actual prescribed rate.
