PEBC lists 11 scored stations plus rest stations. Nine are interactive and two are non-interactive. There are no pretest stations, so every station counts.
Expect about 6.5 hours on site, with testing in two 90-minute halves. See the PEBC OSCE overview for the day in order.
Interactive stations
You speak with a simulated patient, client or health professional. Practice cases for this type could cover:
- A patient asks for an over-the-counter option for a seasonal complaint while taking a prescription for a chronic condition.
- A new anticoagulant start, with adherence and bleeding-risk counselling.
- Inhaler technique and a step-up discussion for poorly controlled asthma.
- A possible adverse reaction to an antibiotic: assess, advise, document.
- A call with a simulated prescriber about a dose that is too high for kidney function.
- A parent asking about a feverish toddler, with red-flag screening and dosing.
- An early refill request for a controlled drug, as an ethical dilemma.
Non-interactive stations
These are paper tasks. You get Outcome and Overall Performance ratings only. Practice cases could include:
- Screen three new prescriptions and flag the one with a clinical problem.
- Check a prepared prescription tray against the original order and decide what to stop.
- Write a short reply to a physician's drug-information question.
Practise before the day
PEBC publishes a sample set of 5 stations on its own site, 3 interactive and 2 non-interactive. Do those first, and read the OSCE explainer if you are new to timed stations. We do not publish real exam papers. You can practise with an AI patient and try one station free with no sign-up, and our feedback is always an estimate. Plans are on the pricing page. Next, try a timed run with the PEBC OSCE mock exam guide.
