The task
Leo Santos has pain after a minor procedure. A signed child medication order and liquid paracetamol are available; his mother is present. Check the prescription, calculate and demonstrate the oral dose, then record care and review. The patient is a manikin; address the patient and the examiner voices their answers and supplies findings. RN Alex Morgan is available. Ana Santos is present.
What this station tests
- Calculate the required milligrams before converting to millilitres.
- Child liquid concentrations vary; use the actual label and an oral dosing device.
- A partial or vomited dose needs advice before another full dose is given.
